Some Styles Will Never Return...

Some things in life may be practical, but for a number of reasons, a person should never be caught dead using them. One example is the Vespa -- very practical, great gas mileage, and trendy. Unfortunately, if you're seen riding one, you're required to turn in your Cool Card.

The other is the fanny pack.

Damn I wish they were in style. It would offer a place to carry my keys, phone, camera, and Bluetooth earpiece without pulling my britches down.

With a wife in fashion school, I told her that if she wanted to get noticed in the business, find a way to bring the fanny pack to people other than Japanese tourists, the overweight, women who don't shave, and hippies.

I'm dying to be able to wear one without losing whatever sense of pride I have left.

I find it now, more than ever, that we share the same opinion on things. How can you offend so many types of people in your blogs and get away with it? I cant smile at someone without them being offended. I think a Vespa would be cool, but the people in beaumont arent very receptive to things like that. How would Denver be?

Vespa's are all over Denver. A few days ago, Rebecca and I saw a group of Vespa riders together on the highway and had a good laugh at their expense.

Seeing 15 people riding two-wheeled lawn mowers is entertaining.

I wouldnt laugh if i saw this list of riders. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vespa#Famous_Vespa_riders

Vespas are nifty. It never occurred to me that they weren't. Now you've given me a lasting insecurity that ensures I'll never be able to bring myself to buy one.

Now, onto the fanny pack issue. You'll be happy to hear that there's a land of milk-and-fanny-packs-and-honey out there, a place where a man can wear a fanny pack anywhere he likes. He can opt for a small, leather, "professional" version for the workplace, even. In this magical land, a man can also wear socks-n-sandals, capri pants, or virtually anything else imaginable. You guessed it. That land is Hungary.
