Houston Texans Reaching .500?
I really think the Texans are trying to get away from the poor moves they made under (former GM Charley) Casserly in that he often overpaid for marginal players with big names. So far, they have picked up the best quarterback available this year, regardless of rookie or veteran, and it only cost them the equivalent of a mid-first round pick (16 overall to be exact).
They picked up a running back in Ahman Green that hopefully has a couple years left, but really didn't overpay when you compare it to the one year younger Thomas Jones (Jets) and the one strike left Travis Henry.
They picked up a solid offensive lineman in Jordan Black, should get Charles Spencer back from injury (who was looking to be pretty good), and I'm hoping that if the free safety from LSU Laron Landry is gone at 10, then they will pick Levi Jones at left takle. Either way, they should be improved.
People like to forget that if they swept the Titans instead of the other way around, they would have been 8-8 and almost in the playoffs instead of the old Oilers. Looking at the Titans' offseason, I like the Texans chances to potentially move up to 2nd in the division with an 8-8 record next year.
