Theismann Leaves The Booth...

ESPN annouced today that the Monday Night Football crew would be receiving a facelift.

Ron Jaworski will be replacing Joe Theismann as the analyst of the trio.  It appears that the move was from management, and wasn't Joe's decision.

This came as a surprise to me, because I expected Tony Kornheiser to step away, but I'm not complaining.  Jaworski breaks down film better than anyone else on ESPN, and Theisman could take a head dive from the booth and I might smile.

Theismann, being from the family of the Washington Redskins, is pompous, arrogant, and self-richeous.  Jaworski is the exact opposite -- he has fun, understand changes in the league, and doesn't belittle another analyist because of their opinion.

Maybe the chemistry will work this time.

ESPN replaces a Redskin with an Eagle.  Oh well -- at least we get Emmitt Smith as a pre-game analyst.
